INTERVIEW

How did your relationship with God begin, and what inspired you to seek Him?

Stacy: My relationship with God began as early as a child for me. My grandmother definitely had a major hand in that. She was always at church & I was right beside her. It wasn't until I became an adult, probably around the time I began teaching Sunday School when I was in my late teens/early 20s that I began my own PERSONAL relationship with God. I needed to have my own time to know Him & not just what I was told to feel about Him.

Was there a moment in your life when you felt without a doubt that God is real? What was that experience like?

Stacy: The moment I KNEW knew that God was real was when I was T-boned in 2019. The lady that hit me missed the driver door by a few inches, & the brunt of the impact was the back driver side door. I walked away from that accident only shaken up. It could have been catastrophic but I know God had his hands on the car I was driving.

How has God positively impacted your life and the way you view the world?

Stacy: How has God NOT positively impacted my life? 🤗 There have been many times when the only being that knew I wanted to give up was God, & He always had a light at the end of my tunnel to keep pushing, as He walked right along side me. The world we live in today is, at times, very scary. So I pray constantly, & seeing what He does for others & what he's done for me? I have hope that more of His people will accept Him & give him the all the glory, honor, & praise.

Can you share a specific instance where you felt God’s guidance or blessings in your life?

Stacy: It was just this year, March, that I was blessed like I've never been blessed before. I had lost my home in October of 2022 & had bounced between 2 homes the remainder of the year, until I relocated in January 2023 to stay with someone else on the east side of the state. I worked very hard all year, to end up then losing my car in January 2024. Almost a year to the date that I had to relocate. The difference between me losing my car rather than my home was that I stopped asking God "Why me?" because I didn't feel I deserved to go through so much anguish, & said "Okay, God. You chose me to endure this. Please guide my steps to make wiser decisions going forward." I stopped crying in pain & began to pray not only harder, but with pride. The word says that everything the enemy stole from me will be restored sevenfold, and it was! I was blessed financially in March, bought a new car all paid for in April, & I moved in to my new house in July. There's nothing & no one that can convince me that my God isn't a way maker!

What role does your relationship with God play in your everyday decisions and outlook on life?

Stacy: I always call on God for everything. He's the root to every single thing I do. I'm always either listening to my Bible, playing some gospel, or reading a verse. I'm quick to ask God for guidance, with things I don't know & with how I deliver my own words to others. I try to incorporate His teachings in just the person that I am, whether that be me spreading his word (I keep prayer cards at work) or doing good deeds. I keep my friends close but my enemies even closer, as they too deserve prayer & love from such a loving God.

How have you grown spiritually since you first began your journey with God?

Stacy: I've grown immensely & I can even spit a few verses with ease lol. With my head buried deep in my Bible, I've grown closer to Him through those words & find myself just talking to Him, not just praying when I need help or things are bad. I tell others don't call on Him when you think you need Him or when you only want a problem solved, talk to Him about EVERYTHING.

What would you say to someone who is questioning whether God is real or if He can make a difference in their life?

Stacy: Trust & believe that God will never leave nor forsake them. I will always tell my story. Contrary to popular belief because of who I am as a person, I've had a harder life compared to lots of people. I never gave up, even when I wanted to. I always asked for God, even when I felt He didn't hear me. Keep your head up, pray to our Father, & TALK to our Father. God is all knowing, but how can you get to know Him if you don't talk to him? Give Him your time so that He will continue to give you more time. Our God is so good & so awesome, I can brag about Him until the end of time! Give yourself up to God & patiently watch Him make a difference everyday. He's always on time 🙏🏾🕊
